Artifact Overview
Sam McLaughlin, son of a successful carriage builder, formed McLaughlin Motor Car Company in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, in 1907. His company's cars were built on Buick chassis and based on Buick designs. General Motors acquired the firm in 1918 and merged it into GM of Canada. Cars were manufactured under the name McLaughlin-Buick from 1923 until 1942.
